How can we help?

Most alarm problems come down to notification, Focus or ringer settings. Start here.

Getting started

  • Allow notifications when Wakey asks. Alarms are delivered as Time Sensitive notifications, so they need permission to appear.
  • Allow Motion & Fitness if you want the Walk game. Wakey uses it to count your steps.
  • Set your first alarm, pick Walk or Math, and choose a difficulty. You can change both on every alarm.

The alarm didn't ring (or was quiet)

  • Check Settings → Notifications → Wakey: notifications on, sounds on, and Time Sensitive Notifications on.
  • If you use a Focus (Sleep, Do Not Disturb), open it in Settings → Focus and allow Wakey, or turn on Time Sensitive notifications for that Focus.
  • Keep the Ring/Silent switch on ring and the ringer volume up overnight. When Wakey is running, its alarm sound plays even in silent mode; when the app has been swiped away, iPhone plays the notification sound, which follows your ringer settings.
  • For the most reliable mornings, leave Wakey open in the background instead of swiping it away from the app switcher.
  • Each alarm repeats as 8 notifications, 30 seconds apart, so a single missed sound is not the end of it.

The "Still awake?" check

  • Five minutes after you finish the game, Wakey rings again. Open the app and tap "I'm up" to stop it.
  • If you miss the check, the next game is harder. Finishing it keeps your wake-up streak going.

The Walk game is not counting steps

  • Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness and make sure Wakey is allowed.
  • Walk with your phone in your hand or pocket. Steps can take a few seconds to show up after you start.
  • Prefer to stay put? Switch that alarm to the Math game.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Wakey is a free download; the full app is unlocked with a subscription through your Apple ID.
  • To cancel or change your plan: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Wakey. Apple handles all billing, so cancelling there stops the next renewal.
  • For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides refunds; we cannot issue them directly.
  • New phone? Sign in with the same Apple ID and restore your purchase from the paywall.
